NPC TalkKit - Dialogue Plugin for Godot 4
A downloadable tool
You probably already have NPCs, quests, saves and your own game logic. TalkKit only handles the conversation part. Add a node, write conversations in the TalkKit workspace, and let the player walk up and talk. Your existing game logic stays untouched.

What you get
- Conversation editor. Write lines in a TalkKit tab inside Godot, with speakers, portraits, voice blips and events.
- One-off lines with say().
$NPCTalkKit.say("Stop right there!")shows a bark or a narrator line, with nothing written in the editor first. - Dialogue box designer. Start with a flat style, a nine-slice texture or any StyleBox, then add a nameplate, a portrait frame and decorations.
- Screen or world placement. Put dialogue on the screen, or make it follow a 2D or 3D character. Boxes stay on screen, and bubble tails point at whoever is talking.
- Anatomy Map. Click any part of the box preview to jump to the setting that draws it.
- Your logic stays yours. Conditions, flags and branching live in your own GDScript. An event pauses the conversation until your code says what happens next.
- C# support through a wrapper for .NET projects.

Requirements
Godot 4.6 and 4.7. Tested on 4.6 stable and 4.7.2 stable.
No telemetry, no network requests, no AI service in the shipped addon.
Designed to fit your game, not replace it
- There's no branching script language to learn. Choices and conditions stay in your code, next to the game state they depend on.
- TalkKit doesn't touch player control, quests, inventory or saves. When it needs something, like locking the player during a conversation, it sends a signal and your game decides.
In the download
The addon, two demo scenes (a small 2D platformer where a fox meets three characters with hand-painted portraits, plus a small 3D scene), the README, the changelog and the licence.
Licence and support
One purchase covers every project you own. Please don't redistribute or publish the addon itself. Questions or bug reports: support@vanquyt.com.
Demo artwork
Pixel art used in the screenshots and demo scenes is by Ansimuz:
SunnyLand – Pixel Game Art Assets Pack
Sunset Forest – Background LITE
Used with permission under their respective licenses. Artwork is not part of NPC TalkKit itself.
